WHAT THE ISLAMIC REGIME HAS DONE TO IRAN

  Dancing is illegal 


Alcohol is illegal 


It is illegal for women to show their hair 


Homosexuality is illegal, and is punished by imprisonment or death 


Traveling in Iran with a boyfriend/girlfriend is illegal. You must be married to travel (even drive in a car) together


Very basic public displays of affection are illegal, including hugs and holding hands


As a woman, you do not have the right to file for divorce


If the husband chooses to file for divorce, custody of the children automatically goes to the father by default


If a woman is married, she cannot go to school without her husband’s permission


Men cannot wear shorts or short-sleeved shirts


For an artist to distribute their music in Iran, they must be approved by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance who strictly prohibit political music and most popular rap.


A woman needs her fathers permission to get married


If a father kills his daughter, he will not go to jail


Women cannot watch mens sports in stadiums


Women cannot leave the country without their husbands permission, even for vacation


Women and men are separated into different sections on public transportation (buses, etc)


Girls and boys are not permitted to attend school together. There are separate schools based on gender


Women in Iran have no legal protection against domestic violence or sexual harassment by anyone


The government has poisoned young girls through gas in the air at their schools in retaliation to the protests


It is illegal to shake hands with the opposite sex


It is frowned upon for women to laugh in public


Women are prohibited from riding bicycles as it is deemed “too sexual"
